Default Viewer

These buttons allow the current user to define the default method to be used when viewing document contents on the Web.

Native application:

Select this button to have the DM Classic Webtop automatically determine which application is required and then launch it to display the document. The required application must be previously installed and correctly configured as explained in View Document Contents. This is the default setting.

DM Viewer:

Select this button to have the DM Classic Webtop launch the DM Viewer to display the selected document. DM Viewer is a browser-specific Windows feature that must be installed prior to use.

HTML:

Select this button to have the DM server engine convert the document to HTML code and then return the end result to the DM Classic Webtop for display in the browser.

Note

Note:
Microsoft Word documents that contain the ellipsis symbol “...” may not be displayed correctly when viewed as HTML. Word (95 and newer) automatically converts three periods (the older, manual way of inserting an ellipsis into a document) into a single character that displays as an ellipsis. Unfortunately, the character code used by Word to indicate this ellipsis sometimes translates into a symbol when the Word document is converted and viewed as HTML.
